The Kids & Teen Hair Academy was established in 2020. The purpose of the academy is to create opportunities for young people aged 6-17 to acquire skills in basic and advanced levels of hair care and hair styling. We are a registered 501c3 designated organization.
The academy is based off skill, not age. Every student who enrolls in this academy will walk away with sharper skills and more confidence!
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
MEET ANGELA SIMPSON,
Founder + President
Angie opened Colorful Creations Salon and Spa in 2015, and has over 20+ years of experience in the hair care industry. She developed a love for doing hair when she was a child, and wants to help young people learn skills that they can use to start their career someday.

Angie serves the community in various ways, and has a passion for youth development. She established The Kids & Teens Hair Academy in 2019, in an effort to serve youth with an interest in the hair care industry.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE
GENERAL SESSION-
We understand that each child's skill set is different, that's why we offer a session to determine which group will best fit each individual's needs.
EVALUATION-
After the general session, each of the students will be evaluated and enrolled in a specific section that will be best suited for their interests and personality. We offer a Junior section, senior section, and master section based on our assessments.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will learn combing and brushing techniques, proper shampoo and conditioning, correct parting techniques, ponytail styles, free braiding, twists and locs.
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
Each student will attend one day, per week, depending on their beginning skill level. They will tutor each week with a professional stylist. learning a new skill in hair care. Each student will need tuition, transportation, and school kit.

Training kits include: comb, brush, rubber bands, shampoo/conditioner, notebook w/pen, blow dryer, flat iron, mannequin head w/stand, gel, spritz, holding spray, oils, moisturizer, braiding hair, salon caps, and a salon apron.

PROGRAM COSTS
Cost Per Student: $115 every four (4) weeks

Colorful Creations Training Kit: $150 (one time fee)
